What does being an entrepreneur really mean?

The order of the day ‘’ENTREPRENEURSHIP’’. When the word Entrepreneur or Entrepreneurship jump right in front of you, what comes to mind? To many, an Entrepreneur means different things to many people.
In a nutshell, I will like to take us on a walk on what an Entrepreneur entails. An Entrepreneur is anybody who sets up a business taking on financial risks in the hope of making a profit. And as we all know Entrepreneurship is not always a walk in the park. One needs to be very consistent to be able to get it going.

Now looking at this clear concept, an idea has been created in our minds already, that risks have to be taken to be able to make a profit.
Entrepreneurship has been in existence since time immemorial when our forefathers do trade by barter to give what they have in exchange for what they wanted. And now as time goes on Entrepreneurship has taken a new stand.
To make this clear, I will like to clearly give some insights. Entrepreneurs are normal people who have decided to start their own businesses. Keep in mind, that entrepreneurship is not for everyone. To become an Entrepreneur, you must be willing to work differently and be smart.

To be a successful entrepreneur, you have to put into consideration certain skills, for example;
– CREATIVITY
– FLEXIBILITY
– DETERMINATION
– SELF CONFIDENCE

Creativity: can be seen by taking your closest environment as your first point of contact. Look around you, and you would realize that everyone sells different things for our daily consumption.
In an entrepreneur’s mind, business is set up by being considerate of what the needs of people are. Do feasibility studies, be informed of what the needs of those people are, and then get to work? Your creative mind comes to play.

Flexibility: Do your own things differently and with a twist. It can be your packaging style, your customer service, your price, or even your approach to your customers. As an entrepreneur, you don’t need to be too rigid with your business policy. That’s where the flexibility comes in. Allow your customers to be a part of your brand by allowing them to share their ideas with you.

Determination: as an Entrepreneur, you must be very determined about what you expect of your business. In every business, there are bound to be risks and losses that are inevitable. Therefore, it is pertinent to bear in mind that in as much as there are gains, losses must be expected too.

Self-confidence: Self-confidence helps you organize your abilities and skills in a positive way. It boosts your self-worth and increases the trust you have for you to deliver on any task you set for yourself and your business. It is, therefore, something never to deviate from no matter the situation. In the course of your journey, you would realize that in any business you set up, there are over a thousand more people who are also engaged in the same business as yours. Your confidence and being consistent will make you prosper.

Having considered the aforementioned skills to be acquired, I will like us to look into some business ideas taking the food business into consideration. Take a look at the catering business. This business idea of cooking and serving is always in demand. It is a good way to test the waters as a chef. And if you have enough rave reviews you might be able to turn your knife skills into a full-time endeavor where you leverage your network, to book catering events or even start up a food vendor business serving organizations breakfasts, lunch, or even an eat-in outlet depending on your capital or resource.

This business idea is built heavily upon getting happy referrals, so be sure to over-deliver to your first customers, and ask to know if they know anyone else who could be in need of your services. In addition, if you play your cards right and start to build a social following or a community over time, you can transform your success as a caterer into starting a food blog which can open up additional revenue streams for your business.
Sometimes there is an app for everything. Even with that, new ones are created and sold for lots of money, frequently. If you spot a niche that has not been filled to its potential just yet, it is funny how catering can translate into different types of business ideas that can earn you money.

Start bringing in some cool cash by appeasing everyone’s taste buds. Depending on your experience, the catering business is just a stepping stone to creating financial stability for yourself. Hoping this insight can help you unleash your hidden business potential.

Decide and go for it, in all honesty, being an entrepreneur is not for everyone, I said it again. I hope you find this helpful.
